Self-stigma within the mental health community has been linked to issues of confidence/ low self- esteem. On the other hand, journalin has proven to have a positive impact on our overall wellness. This led me to ask: how might we combat our self-stigma about mental health through prompted journaling? bloom was created as a solution to this question. bloom’s overall mission is to build confidence, community, and connection between users; both by physical and digital means. A user-guided, prompted journal that focuses on improving self-esteem in those who deal with mental illness. Related to the journal is the bloom app, which gives journal users opportunities to connect with others and find support/ resources.
